In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
1. By the dawn.
2. And ten nights.
3. And by the even and the odd.
4. And the night as it passes.
5. Is there in this an oath for a man of sense?
6. Didn’t you see how your Lord dealt with Aad?
7. Iram of the pillars.
8. The likes of which had never been created in the lands.
9. And Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley?
10. And Pharaoh, owner of the stakes?
11. All of them transgressed within their lands.
12. Spreading rampant corruption and chaos.
13. Therefore, your Lord poured upon them a whip of punishment.
14. Your Lord lies in ambush.
15. As for man: when his Lord tests him, honors him, and blesses him, he says, “My Lord has honored me.”
16. Yet, when He tests him and restricts his provision, he says, “My Lord has humiliated me.”
17. But no! You don’t honor the orphan.
18. And you don’t encourage one another to feed the poor.
19. And you devour inheritance with all greed.
20. And you love wealth with vehement love.
21. When the earth is leveled, pounded, and pulverized.
22. And your Lord comes and the angels, rank upon rank.
23. On that Day, Hell will be presented. On that Day, man will remember, but how will remembrance avail him?
24. He will say, “Oh, I wish I had prepared for my life!”
25. On that Day, none will punish as His punishment.
26. And none will shackle as His shackles.
27. But as for you, O tranquil soul.
28. Return to your Lord, pleased and pleasing.
29. Join My servants!
30. And enter My Paradise!
